About Auto Air and Repair By Ben
Located at 8406 N Blvd, Tampa, FL 33604, Auto Air and Repair By Ben operates as an auto repair shop serving Tampa in Florida. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In Tampa, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Florida vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 7:30 amβ4 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Auto Air and Repair By Ben at (813) 269-9999; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 244 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Tampa.
Tampa is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Traffic in Tampa peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Excellent service, honest work, generous pricing. I was a customer here a year ago for an Air Conditioning repair of a known fault with my vehicle model. I was very satisfied with the service I received. Just now, I had another problem where the car AC wasn't working optimally. I was bracing for a big replacement expense. However, the team diagnosed the fault, repaired a minor part and recharged the gas in the system - all without any charge. Very honest and generous. Highly recommended.

I am very sad to report that I will not return to Bens Auto Air indefinitely. He has repaired our families vehicles for nearly a decade. My parents do not drive anymore and are elder. WARNING. I am their driver and they play repairs. Bens is very clever. He continues to repeat the same bait and switch tactics. He will fix something and then tell you he will buy your car and could resell for a particular amount. He using this number to start the bidding of repair wars. Only to keep coming back to his shop. Our final repairs with him were meet with great disappointment. After my elder father with dementia wrote a check for $2200.00 the check engine and various dashboard warning lights came on. They were not on prior to repairs. I had to call myself during the repair time to let his shop know that he was exploiting my elder father. He took 6000.00 from my elder mother during other repairs as well some strange charges on her morgan stanley accounts. Our cv boot or bearing on the left side still clicks as he denied anything wrong with it. This after a long 2 week period of keeping our car. You have been warned.

These guys are the real deal, and I can assure you that this shop is one of the very few shops that are honest, and value their integrity. When I took my vehicle there, they told me what was wrong with it, and straight up told me it wasnβt worth putting the money into it. They also didnβt even charge me a diagnostic fee, which blew me away. Looks like Iβll be driving the car into the ground, but feel great that I wasnβt taken advantage of.

The ONLY place I will take my vehicles now. Ben is a great guy and as honest as they come. Ford wanted to charge me more than double the cost of Ben. Ben sent me consistent updates of the repair and showed me the broken parts when the job was complete. Top notch!

Great service. Ben is a great guy and knows what he is doing. He wont guess what the problem so you dont have to pay more. I had problem with my AC that is suddenly stopped cooling and after awhile it cold again. I left home the AC wasn't cooling, halfway to Ben the AC stopped cooling again so when I arrived at the store been told me that I have to show up with the problem so he can diagnostic properly. Because my issue is either really or a compressor and he will not be sure and tell that problem appears. I had to leave and come back in a few days and I was lucky that it was only my relay that cost me around $30 instead of the compressor that would cost me $700+ . I think if it was someone else other than then he would charge me for the compressor fix it and change the relay the same time and I will be paying too much and the problem would be fixed for 700$+ not 30$. or even worse case scenario that he will tell me the compressor is bad and he will charge me for it and he will only fix the really and I would never know. Thanks Ben for the great service and for your honesty and professionalism.
